This is a press release from the ProLife Party, UK –
Members of pro-life groups will gather in Parliament Square at 10am on Wednesday 27th October 2004 to mark the 37th anniversary with the Abortion Act which has resulted within the ‘extermination of 6,474,446 lives’.
This is a Press Release from the ProLife Alliance
‘Abortion statistics last year reached an all-time high and we are asking Mr Blair whether it is time to review the Abortion Act,’ said Julia Millington of the ProLife Alliance. ‘In recent months the nation has been horrified by reports which have highlighted the barbarism of abortion – the brutal extermination of a 7 month fetus with a cleft palate, babies who survive abortion being left to die and British women being sent to Spain for illegal abortions of babies up to 30 weeks gestation.
‘Professor Stuart Campbell’s beautiful images with the 12 week fetus ‘walking in the womb’ make it impossible for anybody to deny the humanity with the fetal child. The very hardline supporters of abortion – ‘as early as possible and as late as necessary’ – are becoming increasingly marginalised in their total disregard for the rights with the unborn child.
‘Every day 600 lives are destroyed inside the UK. We call on Parliament to review the brutal legislation which has resulted in human rights violations of genocidal proportions.’
END
The attached leaflet will be distributed in Parliament Square.

Further complicity between UK abortionists as well as the Spanish abortion clinic, Ginemedex, is revealed within the Sunday Telegraph (UK) today. An English GP admits to having accompanied a student to Barcelona to terminate a 32-week pregnancy for social reasons. Once again the UK abortion provider, British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), focus of an earlier scandal unravelled by the same Telegraph team, features regularly inside the report.
‘Anybody involved in any way whatsoever inside the termination of an unborn child at 32 weeks gestation is a barbarian,’ said a spokesperson for Comment on Reproductive Ethics. ‘It is absolutely against the law in both countries, and there is no way this act can be justified. I feel as disturbed by this killing as I have been by the execution of innocent hostages in Iraq.
‘The involvement of BPAS is no surprise. This ill-named organisation has never offered meaningful pregnancy advice. It exists to promote abortion, seeing it as its messianic mission – no reason too trivial, no date in pregnancy too late. Dr Adlakha, the GP involved within the Sunday Telegraph expose, is obviously part with the same network and mindset. There is a viciousness about those organising these abortions and their mania for destroying the unborn child which is almost beyond human understanding.
‘Dr Adlakha should be struck off, along with the police in Birmingham and Barcelona must investigate immediately the criminal implications. We have already been promised an investigation by the Chief Medical Officer, Sir Liam Donaldson. Let us hope that he will now move quickly.
‘It appears that English women are not the only Europeans ending up at the Ginemedex Clinic in Barcelona. Dr Adlakha refers to a French and German client she met during her visit. Spain is currently smarting under the accusations of racism associated with its football supporters. Do they now want to be seen as the abortion killing field of Europe? The Ginemedex clinic must be closed down.’

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), UK, has welcomed a Manchester mother’s court action to stop doctors from performing abortions on her schoolgirl daughters without having her knowledge.
John Smeaton, SPUC’s national director, said: “We are in complete agreement with Ms Sue Axon in her seeking a judicial review of wellness department guidance on parental involvement in teenage abortion.
“Not only does the present policy condemn such girls’ unborn children to death, but it also condemns the pupils to having to live with the consequences of an abortion which their parents may possibly not even have known about. Abortion isn’t just fatal for babies but it can leave serious emotional scars on the girls and women who undergo it.
“This government is committed to allowing abortion for schoolgirls as young as 11, and without having parental involvement. It is time that parental rights and responsibilities were again respected.
“Schools are otherwise so careful about pupils’ welfare, seeking consent for supervised trips and even basic medical care, yet it is achievable for a young girl to be sent by her school to undergo an abortion with out family involvement.
“Our supporters include many parents, and they will be redoubling their efforts to get schools to adopt policies which do not allow for any referrals for abortion, with or without having parental knowledge or consent.”

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) is calling for UK women to have easier access to abortions after 20 weeks.
According to the Guardian, the BPAS argues that there is a shortage of provision for those women who do not discover they are pregnant until near the legal limit of 24 weeks, despite strong Government funding into providing early abortion services within the NHS.
“We’re going to argue that there are very good reasons why women require abortions up to the legal time limit,” stated Ann Furedi, head with the charity.
“The real scandal of late abortions is that women well within the legal time limit cannot access services because there are too few providers.”
Less than 3,000 abortions out of 20,000 are carried out right after 20 weeks. A late termination is often requested because the woman might have been unable to make a decision sooner or, within the case of teenager girls, because they have delayed telling anyone.
The BPAS claims they are forced to turn away around 100 women a year because they cannot provide a termination within the legal time frame.

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) has objected to calls from the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) for easier late abortion.
Paul Tully, SPUC general secretary, stated: “BPAS is already under investigation regarding serious allegations that they have been complicit in illegal late abortions.
“For BPAS to suggest that late abortion should be much more readily available is rather like someone accused of theft saying that shoplifting should be made easier. For most folks (and within the eyes with the law) abortion remains a serious moral question – but not for BPAS. In law, abortions are supposed to be done only for medical reasons: BPAS has been flouting the law for many years.
“Their insensitivity is all the far more crass given the serious damage inflicted on many women by abortion. Both physical and psychological damage can result from abortion. It has been linked to infertility, breast cancer, sleeping disorders, and alcohol and substance abuse. BPAS seems ready to subject ever far more women to these risks, disregarding the medical as well as legal drawbacks of abortion.
“They could face serious criminal charges.”

The decision to provide women with the morning after pill over the counter has failed to reduce the UK’s abortion rate, new figures reveal.
Researchers from Dundee, Edinburgh and Oxford universities found that a 28-month scheme by Lothian Well being Board had no effect on women who were not already using family planning services.
Nearly 18,000 women aged from 16 to 29 were given packs of the morning-after pill to keep at home under the scheme.
However, the study concluded that many men and women were “too embarrassed” to ask for the advance emergency contraception.
More than 4,500 with the women gave at least one course to a friend and 45 per cent of the women used at least one of the courses themselves during the study, but admitted that they rarely asked for advance supplies of emergency contraception due to embarrassment and concern about being judged by well being professionals as morally inadequate.
Expert Dr Sally Wyke, of Dundee University and the director with the Scottish School of Primary Care, presented the research in the Social Dimensions of Well being Institute seminar, stating: “If advance supply of emergency contraception is to be successful in reducing abortion rates, professionals must address their concerns about emergency contraception.
“They must develop imaginative ways of encouraging women most at risk of unwanted pregnancy to take supplies home.”

The Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities of the USA Conference of Catholic Bishops has launched a major advertising campaign inside the Washington Metropolitan area and in national news media outlets. The campaign, called the “Second Look Project,” presents basic facts about legal abortion that much with the public does not understand and encourages people to take a “second look” at their views on abortion.
“Three decades following Roe v. Wade, many folks still do not understand basic facts about legal abortion — like the fact that abortion is legal through all nine months of pregnancy,” stated Cathy Cleaver Ruse, Esq., Director of Planning and Information for the Secretariat.
“Recent polls showing support for Roe v. Wade describe Roe as the decision which legalized abortion in the first 3 months of pregnancy, a flagrant distortion of the truth,” said Ruse. “Roe created an unlimited right to abortion and most men and women think an unlimited right to abortion is wrong.”
“The Second Look Project is innovative because it provides basic facts about legal abortion, and lets the facts speak for themselves,” stated Ruse.
Over 500 transit advertisements will appear on Metro trains and buses within the Washington region beginning in January and running through February.
Advertisements have also begun appearing in the following news outlets: The Washington Post, the Washington Times, the National Catholic Register, America, Commonweal, the New Republic, and the National Review. The ads direct viewers to a website with additional and supporting information:
